The White Curl is a Michael Sheen fandom project that fundraises for Michael’s chosen charities and causes. It’s named after his wavy forelock of white hair, and was set up by two fans as a way to spread kindness, share fan art and fundraise at the same time.
So far they have raised over £43,000 for organisations such as Welsh homelessness charity Llamau, Thrive Women’s Aid, Voices From Care Cymru, hospital charity CW+ and The Homeless World Cup Foundation
The project has had more than 40 contributing artists (including Michael himself!), and new items were released each month featuring their artwork, including pins, notebooks, postcards, magnets, t-shirts and more. These items were available in exchange for a donation to one of the named charities.
As the project continues, the campaigns have evolved to create innovative and fun new ways to raise money for Michael’s charities.
