Michael Sheen recorded some readings of a page from the book Feather, Leaf, Bark & Stone by Jackie Morris. The book is described as “A pillow book of poems, dreams & stories typed on sheets of gold leaf.”

Two films were made from the recordings, including beautiful animation and soundscapes. They were posted online to celebrate National Poetry day on 6th October. See more artwork and information on Jackie’s website.

As requested by Jackie, if you enjoy the films please consider making a donation to the Trussell Trust

Transcript:

Song of raven
The curlew’s hymn
By feather, leaf, bark and stone
A leaf in water
Where otters swim
By feather, leaf, bark and stone
In sap
That flows from root to crown
By feather, leaf, bark and stone
Shaped by tide’s turn
Smooth, round
By feather, leaf, bark and stone

There is a web that wraps around the world
A tangled place
So easy to become lost
But look to the light
And you will find a guide
To take you always by the hand
And lead you to beauty
By perfect paths
