Hello, I’m Michael, and I am supporting Thank You Day on July the 4th because I have a lot of thank yous I would like to say! But I don’t want this to sound like some terrible Oscar speech, so I’ll just keep it to three. First of all, I would like to say thank you to our little daughter Lyra, who has spent most of her life in lockdown, during this pandemic, so I’d like to say thank you Lyra, for keeping us busy, and entertained, and sleep deprived! Thank you.
And secondly, I would like to say thank you to Aled Humphreys, he of Taibach Rugby Football Club, and who typifies people who have stepped forward when things have got tough, got creative, got big hearted, and worked hard to keep people connected and to keep people’s spirits up during this difficult time. So thank you Aled, for everything you’ve done.
And that leads me to my third thank you, which is to everybody else who has done that in my local home town community in Port Talbot, It’s been amazing to see how people have come together, pulled together, helped each other when it’s been needed, and stayed connected in difficult, difficult circumstances, and helped to keep each other’s spirits up even when it’s got really hard and when things have been at their darkest. So thank you to all of you.
I hope that you will join me on July the 4th, getting together with neighbours, and taking part in the country’s biggest ever thank you party, and just taking a moment to say thank you.
Thank you!
