Michael Sheen on the Jo Whiley Show for Sport Relief 2020

In March 2020, BBC Radio 2 DJs Jo Whiley, Reverend Kate Bottley and Richie Anderson took part in #Dare2Tri, a triathlon event for Sport Relief, a charity that raises money for various causes using the power of sport. Michael Sheen joined the triathlon in Barry, Wales, from where the team cycled to Cardiff. He then appeared on Whiley’s evening radio show.

Note that this event took place a few days before the first COVID-19 lockdown in the UK.

Highlights from the radio show include: Michael whinging about how hard the ride was, the special cream for cycling, acting injuries, and The Homeless World Cup. Jo also plays Song To The Siren by The King, which is a song that always makes Michael cry because it reminds him of the birth of his daughters.

Songs chosen by Michael:

Manic Street Preachers – Motorcycle Emptiness
Primal Scream – Rocks
Adam And The Ants – Ant Music
The Rolling Stones – Gimme Shelter
The King – Song To The Siren
Alffa – Gwenwyn
ELO – Mr. Blue Sky
Radiohead – Everything in Its Right Place
